Food @ Sydney
1) Eating World
Eating world is just
like our Food Republic with lesser options. It is located near the Chinatown
area and they have a variety of good Asian Food like Japanese, Chinese, Thai
and many more! The bulgogi, dumplings, "煮炒“are highly recommended
by many locals and tourists. The nearest train station is either Town Hall or
Museum or Central.
Address:
25-29 Dixon St, Haymarket NSW 2000, Australia
Working
Hours: Monday - Sunday (1000 - 2200)
2) Pancakes on the rocks
Pancake on the rocks
serves very deliciously, light and fluffy pancakes! I personally would not
recommend it as a dessert but rather a meal of its own. As it is so filling
with the toppings included! I would describe the environment as a westernised “茶餐厅” during peak hours. It
gets a little loud and busy but the speed on getting a plate on the table is fast.
After a heavy meal, you can take a slow walk back to Darling Harbour while
enjoying the Sydney Opera house light show. The nearest train station is
Circular Quay.
Recommended pancakes!
➡Devil's Delight
Great for those who want
some rich chocolate flavour! Imagine 2 hot chocolate pancakes, drizzled with
chocolate sauce and dusted with fine powder sugar. Side of the plate pack
filled with strawberries and topped with icy cold chocolate ice cream.
How great does that sound!
➡ Blueberry Heaven
Great for those who love
blueberries! Imagine 2 hot buttermilk pancakes stacked on top of a bed of
homemade blueberry jam. Dusted with fine powder sugar and topped with icy cold
vanilla ice cream. Surprisingly the blueberries give it a tangy twist to the
sweet, fluffy pancakes and do not make it so "jelak"
Address:22
Playfair St, The Rocks, Sydney 2000
Working Hours: 24 hours
3)Devon Cafe
Devon Cafe serves great
poached eggs that are unforgettable! Their sourdough toast bread tastes great
with the combination of vegemite, house-made preserved fig jam and butter!
Also, do not be fooled by the appearance of the cafe from the streets! There
are more seats inside as you walk further into the cafe passing by the kitchen.
It feels like the scene from "Alice in Wonderland" when
Alice stepped into another dimension! However, do take note that the kitchen
closes at 1500 so make sure to be there before it closes. The nearest train
station is Central.
Recommended menu!
➡ Eggs Blini
Imagine thin hot blini
topped with a runny yolk and firm whites, with citrusy flavoured cut cured
salmon on the sides and asparagus that were cooked to perfection.
Address: 76 Devonshire
St, Surry Hills NSW 2010, Australia

4)Orto Trading Co.
Orto Trading Co. serves
brunch to die for! Wouldn't give it a miss at all! The cafe is not obvious as
it is in between ordinary buildings. The nearest train station is Central.
Recommended menu!
➡ Spanish Chorizo
Bruschetta
Imagine juicy mushrooms,
seasoned spinach, runny yolk with firm whites on a nice toast! Thinking about
it makes me hungry!

Surry Hills NSW 2010, Australia

Friday (0700 - 1600)

5)Blue Fish Seafood Restaurant
Blue Fish Seafood Restaurant
serves the best oysters and fish and chips I could ever imagine! The atmosphere
and service were great! When it was chilly, they would on the warmer to keep us
comfortable. The view seating outside is outstanding as well! Watching the
dragon light show while eating, such a great combination! The nearest train
station is Town Hall.
Recommended menu!
➡ Mixed Oysters
A mixture of fresh
natural and kilpatrick oysters on the plate served with lemon slices and
tobasco sauce.
➡ Fish & Chips
Imagine soft, fluffy
fish covered with crispy beer batter served with piping hot fries on the side.
A serving of creamy yet unique tartare sauce on the side. Sounds like a perfect
pair made in heaven!

6) The Ground Of Alexandria
The Ground Of Alexandria
has one of the best atmospheres I could ever imagine! On the outside it looks
like an industrial park when you step in, it is a whole new world! They have a
little farm, open garden and a cafe that serves amazing coffee. Their plates,
menus and environment have a rustic feel to them, and it is a very rare sight
as it is so unique! All their food is visually stunning and "instagrammable"! 😋 It is worth walking all the way from Green
Square station.
